We have some very special visitors coming in to help us celebrate Love Your Bookshop Day this Saturday, August 10th! Two furry friends from the Story Dog program will be joining us at 10:30am for a very special story time. Story Dogs mission is to make reading fun for children, so they become confident lifelong readers. When children read to a dog, the outcomes are amazing! It is a non-judgmental setting, the children's focus improves, their literacy skills increase and their confidence soars. The accepting, loving nature of dogs gives this program its magic and helps children relax, open up, try harder and have fun while reading to a friendly, calm dog.

On the day there will be a rolling panel featuring the best new writing by Tasmanian authors. There will also be a workshop to learn to knit the 'Cape Barren Goose hat' featured in "Maria" by Prue Hutton and Sally Ord.
