This year to celebrate one of our premier local authors, we'll be hosting an Art Deco walk around the Potts Point area with Peter Sheridan, the author of Sydney Art Deco.
The tour will begin at 10am at Potts Point Bookshop and go for approximately 1.5 hours.
The $10 booking fee will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
Book Bazaar
To celebrate the day we have hired a caricaturist to be in store from 10am - 1pm. Make a purchase of $30 or more in store on the day and you can have your caricature drawn with either the book you bought, or with a favourite you have brought along from home! A caricature with your favourite book will make a great keepsake, profile pic or memento of the book your child loves.
Each picture will take around 10 minutes with our caricaturist, Tony Kentuck, so if you have limited time, you can message us to book a time slot, as we will probably only be able to do a maximum of 20 in the time. All bookings for times are based on you making a purchase in store before your sitting. You can buy a great new book for yourself, a present or even a voucher for later if you can't make up your mind.
Society City
To celebrate Love Your Bookshop Day and get a jumpstart on Children's Book Week, we're having a day of reading and writing fun at Society City!
Sandwich Press Zines will run an interactive hands-on zine-making workshop for kids (and adults!), and there will be a surprise live reading in the bookshop.
